A Study on the Occlusal Groove Morphology of Mandibular 2nd Molars

Abstract
In order to regenerate the more optimal occlusion of lower 2nd molars under the aim of repair the correct occlusal morphology, the groove morphology of "Y" form and "+" form which are different in the aspect of function and development, are studied statistically.
The results are as follows:
1) In the comparison of "Y" form and "+" form, "Y" form of 688 individuals are more than the "+" form of 330.
2) In the comparison of male and female, "Y" form of male is 558 individuals and "+" form of male is 247, and "Y" form of female is 130 individuals and "+" form of female is 83.
3) In each form, 69.32% of male is more than the 61.03% of female in "Y" form disposition, and 38.97% of female is more than the 30.68% of male in "+" form disposition.
